FLASH FRIDAY CHALLENGE: 100 WORDS
PHOTO PROMPT ©C.E. AYR
Charlie has an aptitude for adventure. A troublemaker, some say.
But Charlie’s just a kid – bored with the electronic world, uninterested in books or sports. She’s an artist, a free spirit.
Dust dances across the sky as she drops her bag. She dangles her legs over the viaduct, grasping the edge. People look small from here.
She laughs at her pink stained hands as she glances at her watch – 8:58am.
The train rounds the bend. Her heart pumps faster. As it speeds along the tracks below she catches it: “FREEDOM” in bold pink spray-paint. She can’t resist the smile.
I was there. I saw her

Great take on the prompt – I often wonder how they get access to do the graffiti. Nice one.

I do to! It’s not a risk I’m willing to take, that’s for sure!

Dear Laura,

Always. 😊. I work near a railroad car graveyard. There’s always the most beautiful graffiti and murals painted on them. It’s the first thing I thought of!

That got me all excited (and worried) just reading. Kids and risk taking seems a timeless thing. Great story.
